Finding more quality time with the family means a million different things to a million different people. It means a ton of different things to me alone. At this moment I am laying in bed getting cuddled by a 3 and 11 year old who fell asleep watching Spongebob Squarepants with me. This year has started out with some warm weather and enabled us to get outside in the darkness of midnight with the light sabers on a couple of occasions already. Things like this really make me realize how truly blessed that I am in this life.
Quality time with my wife might require some prerequisite work like cleaning my office of vacuuming the living room. Outside of that, I plan on spending some time outdoors with my wife this year, but long strolls through our community with the dog are out of the question at -25C and that balmy winter weather that 2014 ended with is apparently gone.
I spend less time each day doing home school stuff with the kids but the new year will see that change a little… or maybe a lot. At this point in my life, I just turned 45 and I am coming to grips with the fact that I am absolutely not spending enough quality time with my whole family. Right now I am trying to figure out how to get more bang for my buck and with six kidlets still at home it isn’t easy to spread my spare time across the family.
So, new goals for 2015, find more spare time and new ways to make the time mean more to my family. Good goals.
